DIY Floral Details And Vintage Charm | Matthew & Kate | Cleveland, Ohio | Cassandra Lee Photo

March 10, 2026

Some weddings just feel different.

Not because of the décor or the perfectly timed timeline, but because of the people in the room. Kate and Matt’s wedding was one of those days where the love, the laughter, and the energy were impossible to miss. And honestly? It started way before the ceremony even began.

When I asked Kate how she was feeling that morning, she said: “This whole weekend has just felt perfect.” And she was right. It really was.

From first look to last dance, everything about their day felt like them. Vintage charm, laid-back joy and a whole lot of sweetness. One of my favorite details— every single floral arrangement, centerpiece, and bouquet was handmade by Kate, her family and her friends after taking a class together at Blossom Flower Bar in Cleveland. Not just DIY, but a full labor of love. You could feel it in every detail!

The vibe was timeless. Think candlelight, beautiful architecture, delicate textures, but also just so fun. Bubble exits, the kind of laughter that fills a whole room and a reception that genuinely felt like them.

Matt’s dad said it best during his toast: “Their heart and soul went into that wedding, and they shared it with us.” That’s exactly what it felt like to be there.

Matt has the kind of laugh that makes everyone around him start laughing too. Kate is equal parts sweetheart and the funniest person in the room. Watching them together, acting like best friends who still get butterflies, was honestly my favorite thing to photograph all day.

Kate and Matt, thank you for trusting me with your day. You reminded me why I do this. Weddings aren’t about perfection. They’re about presence, people and pouring your whole heart into something and then sharing it with everyone you love.

Here’s to you both.🤍
